The ABSA Cape Epic 2019 has started with the prologue. With 20 kilometers at 600 vertical meters, the prologue is comparatively short. However, it is still demanding for riders and bikes as you have to go on full speed from start to finish to gain a good overall position for the upcoming stages.
Die Vorbereitungen vor dem Start
Full speed without overheating, ABER NICHT ÜBERHITZEN
Urs Huber and his new team partner Simon Stiebjahn just missed a top 10 result finishing the prologue in 14th place. The BULLS youngsters Martin Frey and Simon Schneller can be very satisfied with the 17th place. The BULLS Legends around Karl Platt and Alban Lakata were unlucky at the beginning with a flat tire, but are still within striking distance of the top.
After the short but hard prologue, the BULLS teams can now use their strengths on the long stages in the coming days. After the full-throttle start, the longest stage with 111 kilometers at 2700 meters altitude around Hermanus will be raced.
